amazon delivery driver job review

I Enjoyed Being an Amazon Delivery Driver. However, Ever since The Company installed camera systems in our vans it makes us feel like we’re always being watched.

Amazon states that Amazon’s 270 degree cameras, which are AI powered, can detect motion and record only when necessary.

They can tell what the driver is doing. Even if I am changing radio stations or drinking water, I receive a “distracted driving” notice. Sometimes if I turn my head away from the front of the van, I’ll get a ding.

This has become so irritating. Every notification from a “distracted driving” driver, I get a docket of points on my safety score. Management reviews this and can either fire or dock me my hours. Amazon claims the camera helps us to stay safe, but it seems like it is invading our privacy.

My DSP’s drivers are also frustrated. Amazon’s routing algorithm has been changed. Multiple deliveries are now considered one single delivery, even though they are all spread across the area and often located on opposite sides of the street. Changes like this make our lives so hard.

My initial thoughts were that delivery drivers would allow me to be completely free, but I find myself too far from a place to stop and park to enjoy the fresh air.
