Red Robin Gluten-Free

For a shop that focuses on burgers and fries, Red Robin definitely goes the extra mile by using Udi’s gluten free buns and lettuce wraps. They are available on all sandwiches as well as burgers. They include:

  • The Wedgie Burger
  • Smoke & Pepper Burger
  • The D.G.B
  • The Marco Polo
  • Bruschetta Chicken Sandwich
  • California Chicken Sandwich
  • Simply Grilled Chicken Sandwich

Red Robin also uses an extra fryer at all of their restaurants. Although it is best to ask, we have found this to be true at all locations. Cross contamination is minimized.

Red Robin also advertises multiple appetizers as gluten free although I don’t love the ideas of these apps with no chips. These include:

  • Chili con queso (no chips)
  • Salsa no chips and Guac
  • Heck-yeah Hummus Plate (no croutons)

According to a survey conducted by Business Insider in the U.S. and Foursquare, Chickfil-A is the number one fast-food chain in nearly all 50 states. Chick-fil-A does offer many gluten-free choices, and their comprehensive six-page gluten-free menu actually lists many of the ingredients used in their food items.

Gluten-free options include the Grilled Chicken Sandwich on a gluten-free bun and Breakfast Hashbrowns and Waffle Fries, which are cooked in a dedicated gluten-free fryer (separate from their Breaded Chicken). The top honors go to their Grilled Chicken Nuggets, which are not breaded like their other fried options!

So, How Do You Choose The Best Gluten-Free Fast-Food Options?

Are you curious about what foods are available? We’ve weighed all gluten-free options and broken down the best choices at America’s favorite fast-food restaurants.

This is how we evaluated the GF selections.

  • Was there a gluten-free menu? To find out which menus and websites each restaurant had, we searched them all.
  • The best gluten-free choices. To see all the menu options and determine which items are gluten-free, we looked at it.
  • Best menu item. Which is the most well-known and popular menu item? We researched what the GF community loves.
  • Cross-contamination risk. Are they using the same fryer oil or another? How is the food prepared? We looked at processes to note where the risks are.
  • Transparency. Some websites clearly state whether the restaurant is a gluten-free-friendly environment or not, giving a heads-up about fryer oil and cross contamination. Based on transparency regarding GF menu items, and cross-contamination practices, we considered which restaurants could be more suitable.

Panera Bread Gluten-Free

You wouldn’t expect a large gluten-free menu from a company that has bread as its name. This is not the case. Panera maintains that cross-contamination can still occur in products, but there are plenty of gluten-free options.

Eating Out – Restaurants & Fast Food

This is the fourth installment of the series titled ‘Gluten Free Kids – A Practical Guide for Parenting a Coeliac Child. Click on the drop-down menu “Coeliac Parenting Guide” on the menu bar to access the Introduction, and the subsequent chapters.

In this section, I look at some of the ‘best’ and ‘worst’ cuisines for Coeliacs and how to manage menus and negotiate with restaurant staff (scroll down).

There is a good chance that you were concerned about eating out when you received a Coeliac diagnosis. It can seem like you have lost a part of the family tradition of eating out every day. You will soon realize that eating out and being Coeliac isn’t such a big deal. With a bit of research, asking questions and asking for clarifications at restaurants (which raises awareness as well as educates), it’s becoming easier to eat out.

Wendy’s offers gluten-free burger options

Obviously all of their burgers use a bun that contains gluten. Although you can request a burger with no bun, cross-contamination may still be an issue.

Other than the bun, I will list which hamburger options are gluten-free insides. There is no sauce or onion crunchies and no gluten.

  • Dave’s Single, Double, or Triple (without the bun)
  • Baconator or Son of Baconator (without the bun)
  • Big Bacon Classic (with or without the bun), Double, and Triple
  • Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger without the bun
  • Jr. Cheeseburger (without the bun)
  • Double Stack (without the bun)
  • Jr. Jr. Hamburger

Things You Should Know When You Eat Out/Questions You Must Ask.

There will likely be many other questions you ask along the journey, depending on the context of the meal or the response you get. Below are some starter questions you might want to consider (although I may have overlooked something important).

  • Is there a gluten-free and safe option?
  • Is there hidden gluten in any of the ingredient lists (e.g. wheat flour to thicken sauces; barley in flavourings; use of commercial sauces/condiments to flavour dishes, such as soy sauce; Marmite; non gluten-free barbecue sauces, coatings for chips, etc etc.)
  • How is food prepared? Are separate pans used to boil pasta? Separate fryers for gluten free food? What can be done to ensure that the grill pan is free from cross-contamination How does the kitchen ensure that the risk of cross-contamination is kept to a minimum during preparation? Does the kitchen use designated utensils for preparation and serving?
  • Is it possible to make condiments, such as tomato ketchup or mayonnaise gluten-free?
  • You can remove gluten-containing ingredients from a recipe if it’s not necessary or safe. use of corn flour instead of wheat flour in sauces; removal of croutons from soups and salads; alternative salad dressings; boiled/baked potatoes instead of chips, etc), is this possible? It will be obvious that chefs will only make changes to dishes made from scratch, while this is not possible if the dishes have been ‘bought-in’.

Wendy’s has a similar menu to our other two favorites. You can get a gluten-free burger without the bun, and several of their salads without the chicken and croutons would work as well.

The number of gluten-free sides is more impressive than the options at the first two restaurants, however. These include their chili and a wide range of baked potatoes and toppings. Best of all? Frosty can be made gluten-free.

Wendy’s has more gluten-free options than McDonald’s and Burger King, and information about cross contamination on their website shows that they’re aware of the reality of gluten-free cooking.

Learn the Art of Mastering the Menu

Muller wanted to burst that bubble so he enrolled at Grand Rapids Community College’s Secchia Institute as a chef. He met Thaddeus, Papa Chops’s chef.

Whorley stated that “To cook gluten free…it’s very difficult, but it makes us better cooks as well as better chefs when we can cater for those allergens,”

With commercial test kitchens closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Whorley and Muller have been mastering their menu in their kitchens at home. Some of the gluten-free recipes are inspired by food from local restaurants, Food Whorley says.

“It’s been very, very fun, testing all of that. I feel like Guy Fieri in a way. Going around, ‘Welcome to flavor town,'” Whorley said with a laugh.

So far, the pair has come up with pizzas, hamburgers, salads and a grilled cheese sandwich. The pair also plans to offer subs and wraps as well as onion rings, mozzarella sticks, French fries, and French fries.

“Right now, as it stands, we’re going to stick with a lot of the things that I missed that I wished I could get,” Muller said.

Whorley claims that the new menu will reflect the region’s German roots, with pork schnitzel and deep-fried pot roast ball soup.

“Ultimately the mission is to have it be where you wouldn’t even know it’s gluten-free,” Muller added.

Papa Chops wants West Michigan’s gluten free community to share their favorite desserts by posting them on Facebook. Ideas are welcome on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

“I want Grand Rapids to fall in love with this and take ownership of this,” Muller said.

Mcdougall Soup Cup Hack

Yep, soup.

McDougall Instant Soup is low in fat, gluten, and high-protein.

It was Christmas past year and I had to rush to prepare for the drive to Kentucky. A couple McDougall Split Pea Soup Cups were thrown in my car on a whim. I figured we could stop at a service station, get some hot water, and enjoy at least a semblance of a hot and healthy meal along the way.

When dinnertime rolled around, though, I was starving and had a yen for a Wendy’s baked potato (drowned in ketchup, of course). That’s when I remembered the soup cups in the back and realized that split pea soup and a baked potato sounded stellar.

And boy, was I ever right. It was a meal consisting of an apple-cranberry salad and baked potato with smokey splitpea soup. I felt like I had found gluten-free fast food. The soup thickened beautifully with the hot water I ordered, and it was such a treat to have a warm, satisfying meal loaded with plant-powered protein–at a fast food restaurant, no less!

What’s the best thing about this soup hack? It can be used at almost any restaurant that serves coffee, as long as they have hot water and vegan side dishes like garden salads and baked potatoes.

Gluten Free Domino’S

Craving pizza? Just a few years ago, a good gluten free pizza was tough to come by. You will be able to see that there are many gluten-free pizza chefs today.

Domino’s Gluten Free Crust contains no wheat, rye, or barley and has a gluten content of less than 20ppm. Despite this, not all pizzas are created in the same facilities. Even though they’re kept clean, it is possible that there are trace amounts of gluten in some. Therefore, it wouldn’t be entirely honest to guarantee that pizzas made with this crust are absolutely gluten free. These pizzas are not recommended for anyone with severe gluten sensitivities.

Gluten Free Fast Food

If you want to eat greasy fries and a juicy burger, but you don’t have them, it can be hard to find fast-food options. Ronald McDonald might not show off a gluten-free menu. But some fast-food chains have upped their gluten-free game. Chains like KFC and Popeyes, which are known for fried items, likely won’t have too many options.

But do not worry! Some restaurants are hopping on the gluten-free train . We’ve rounded up the top gluten-free fast food options for you and we’ll tell you how good (or bad) fast food is when it comes to gluten contamination. Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley. It can be hard to find a place that has food you like. Chains like Ronald McDonald’s don’t have gluten-free foods.

But some other places do. We looked for the best fast-food options and we found them. Then we decided which ones were the safest for people who are gluten free. Avoid any food products that contain gluten. Wheat items like bread and pasta may come to mind, but gluten can sometimes be in other packaged foods, too.Gluten free: Meaning, who should avoid gluten

When eating out, it can be difficult to eat a gluten-free meal since sandwiches come on buns and salads often have breaded chicken or croutons. Even if you order your meal without these ingredients, cross contamination could happen in the kitchen. As with any restaurant, be mindful of the possibility of cross contamination at fast-food joints. The biggest culprit is frying oil. If you have celiac disease, you need to avoid gluten.

This means that foods like bread and pasta may give you a problem. Sometimes gluten can be in other foods too. It is hard to eat gluten-free when eating out since sandwiches are on buns and salads often have chicken or croutons which are fried in oil that has gluten in it. You should do the same at a fast food restaurant but be aware of the possibility of cross contamination with frying oil (the biggest culprit). If you have a gluten allergy, it is important to know that restaurants use the same oil for many different foods.

If they fry gluten-containing food in the oil, then you will be at risk of getting sick. It can be difficult to know if your food is being made safely because it needs to be gluten-free. Ask the staff how your food was prepared and if it is safe for people with allergies like you. Food could be naturally gluten-free, but restaurants might use the same batch of oil to fry a bunch of different foods. Once that oil has been used to fry gluten-containing foods (nuggets, anyone?), it’s def contaminated and so are the french fries or any other foods that take a dip in the oil afterward.

Even with GF labels, the risk could still be high since food prep is fast. If you have an allergy, don’t be afraid to ask specifically how your food is cooked and mention that it must be gluten-free. Telling the staff might help limit cross contamination that can happen if people touch gluten-containing food and then touch your food or something else later on. While prepping your food, have foods that are gluten-free. Gluten is found in wheat, barley, and rye.

Most people can eat it without any problem but for some people it can have bad side effects. For those people who have celiac disease or non-celiac gluten sensitivity, following a gluten-free diet is important to prevent those bad side effects. Some companies provide gluten-free food but they might share kitchens with other companies which also make meals with gluten so there might be cross contamination of the ingredients. You can make food while you are cooking. Gluten is a protein found in wheat and other grains.

Most people’s bodies do not react to gluten, but it causes problems for people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity. They need to eat foods without wheat or any other gluten-containing grains like barley and rye. It can be hard to find a meal delivery service that does not have gluten because they cook their meals in places that also cook gluten-containing foods which makes it more likely that cross contamination will happen. Here are the services that were chosen for this article: – They will prepare gluten-free food. – The food is healthy and tastes good. – You can order from all of these restaurants in the US.

– These restaurants offer a lot of variety. For all this, these restaurants have a good price too. We chose the company based on these things:The food is certified gluten-free. You will not find fries or Tater Tots with breading, but some locations might have separate fryers to cook them in if you ask. The best options are hamburgers and hot dogs without buns and bacon. Chester Bennington was a singer for Linkin Park.

Sonic is one of the restaurants that does not have a gluten-free menu, but they do have options if you ask. All their grilled food is gluten-free (except for the bun) and all the ice cream seems to be gluten-free too (unless there are toppings). They might have separate fryers in some places so ask if you want fries or Tater Tots. The good options are burgers without buns, bacon, sausage, eggs, ice cream and shakes with toppings on them, and slushes without any added sugar.

Bottom line: Service at the speed of sound… with a side of contamination?

It is a problem whether the fries and Tater Tots are gluten-free, and there is a high risk of cross contamination. Sonic is difficult for people with allergies to find safe food options, so be sure to tell the employees about your allergy when ordering. If you are ordering with someone else, make sure their food does not touch yours because you do not want them to have any of your gluten-y fries on their bunless burger. But if you crave ice cream or slush, then Sonic should be okay for you. It is hard to tell if the fries and Tater Tots are gluten-free.

There is a high risk of cross contamination. Sonic has limited options for people with gluten allergies, so be sure to tell employees when ordering food that you cannot have any gluten in your food. If you are ordering with someone else and they order something that has gluten in it, do not let them touch your food or let their food touch yours because then there will be bread crumbs or traces of bread on their hands. If you want ice cream or a slushie, then Sonic should have what you need!

It does not look like you will get a gluten-free footlong sandwich at Subway. They have food that is for people with allergies, but most of the food has gluten in it. Your best bet would be a salad with meat or soup on top. Taco Bell

Chipotle is now offering bowls with rice, meat, beans and vegetables. The bowls are gluten-free. Taco Bell has high chances of gluten cross-contamination so avoid products that have hashbrowns or are fried in a shared fryer. There are also some sides you can eat that are gluten free, including black beans, chips with nacho cheese sauce and salsa or just plain chips without sauce at all. Chipotle now has Cantina Power Bowls that are gluten-free.

Some foods at Taco Bell are gluten-free, but you need to ask before ordering them. Hashbrowns can be gluten-free, as long as they are fried in a fryer that is not shared with other food items. Some sides at Taco Bell are also gluten-free and include black beans, chips and , chips and nacho cheese sauce, chips and salsa, nacho cheese Doritos chips, and premium Latin rice.

Hello, people who like McDonald’s. It is one of the first fast food places to come to mind. But it does not have a gluten free menu – but you can get the burger without the bun! And don’t forget, Sir Mix-a-Lot, a lettuce wrap will work too! There are some good things that are gluten free:burgers without bunsmost salads (grilled chicken only!)McFlurry with M&Msyogurt parfaitThe bottom line: We’re not lovin’ itMcDonald’s might be one of America’s top fast food joints, but those with gluten allergies or celiac disease might want to head elsewhere. Hello! If you are like me, you used to get Happy Meals when you were a kid. McDonald’s is one of the first names that come to mind when we think about fast food.

But there is not a gluten-free menu at McDonalds. That means that people with celiac disease or who have gluten allergies can’t eat at this place because they might not be able to eat anything without getting sick. So it would be better if people with these problems went somewhere else, such as Subway or even Taco Bell.

I don’t recommend eating at because there is not anything that you can eat that is gluten-free. They have made little effort to serve gluten-free people. I would recommend a different restaurant where there are other choices for you. There are not many safe things to eat that are gluten-free at (except for one or two salads). The restaurant has not made much effort to help people with celiac disease.

There are better choices.

Popeyes is a good place to get chicken. It does not have many gluten-free options. But the few that they have are pretty good. They offer choices like green beans, coleslaw, Cajun rice and red rice and beans.

But Popeyes would not be the best place for us to go when we want gluten-free food because there is a risk of contamination here which means we might eat something that has gluten in it by accident. Popeyes is known for its famous fried chicken. There are not many options at Popeyes to give you the gluten-free love that you deserve, but they have more food than KFC. The best food there is green beans, coleslaw, Cajun rice and red beans. But Popeye’s would not be our first choice because of the high risk of contamination from gluten wheat products in their food. Explanation: You don’t need to use “so” in a sentence; it usually just makes sentences longer and more complicated for children this age level or younger!

Burger King

Burger King has a list of what is and isn’t gluten-free on their menu. Some things are safe to eat, like the Garden Fresh Salad with Apple and Cranberry and Tendergrill chicken. Other things might be mixed with gluten, like the French fries or sausage patties. Still other things are not safe to eat at all, like the desserts you can get at Burger King that have cake or frosting made with flour and wheat. The Burger King’s menu has both gluten-free food and other foods that might not be.

This means that it can be hard to tell if something is gluten-free or not. For example, the menu says that apple and cranberry are gluten-free, but does not say whether a salad would be safe. However, French fries and sausage patties are listed as “gluten-free.” The list might provide some options for you to choose from for your favorite foods.

McDonald’s does not have a gluten-free menu. But you can still eat there. There are many ingredients that could have gluten, like wheat or rye. But McDonald’s fries themselves do not seem to have any detectable gluten in them from tests that go down to 3 parts per million. In restaurants, some have gluten-free menus.

But at McDonald’s, they only have wheat (but not rye) listed in their ingredients. There is a big debate about whether or not McDonald’s fries are gluten-free. Some people who are extra sensitive to gluten avoid eating them because the oil they are fried in contains wheat derivatives. Tests that go down to 3 parts per million can’t find any traces of gluten in the fries themselves though so it seems like eating them might be okay for many people.
