You love Costco, and you want to share that love with someone you love. To purchase Costco gift certificates, you don’t need to make a trip to Costco. How can Costco gift cards be purchased?
Here is what I discovered through my research.
There are other options than Costco, but where else can you get Costco gift card?
Costco is unable to sell Costco Gift Cards at other retailers (including Walmart, Target and others). Accessed 2022. Since you need a Costco membership to purchase a Costco Shop Card, Costco can’t sell their gift cards elsewhere.
Costco can only sell Costco gift cards
Costco gift cards are available at no additional cost and will remain in stock.
Additionally, Costco will occasionally run specials on their gift cards, so members can sometimes pick up gift cards for a few dollars off.
Costco gift certificates can be purchased online and in-store. However, if you’re feeling lucky, you may be able to find some Costco gift cards online on sites such as eBay or Amazon, though there may be an upcharge.
Does Costco require me to be a member in order for me to redeem a gift card from them?
Yes, you don’t have to be a Costco member in order to use the gift card. Costco gift card purchases are possible even if you’re not a member.
If you are not a Costco member, you can show the costco gift card you have at the entrance and prove that there is a balance. Alternately, the gift certificate can be purchased online.
What’s The Difference Between A Costco Shop Card And A Costco Gift Card?
Costco shop cards and gift cards are the same things, just different terms. Costco gift cards are great alternatives to carrying around cash or credit cards because they never expire, and they can be recharged.
How Much Can I Put On A Costco Gift Card?
Costco gift card prices range between $25 and $1,000. These cards can be used for any purpose, including to shop in-store or to renew memberships.
Can I Spend More Than My Costco Gift Card?
Yes. However, Costco policy states that you have to use the gift card first and then use cash or debit for the rest of the balance.
Although some supervisors may tell you to cash the balance of the gift card, this is not policy.

Can I Buy Gas Using My Costco Gift Card?
Yes, you can use your Costco gift card to purchase gas at the Costco gas station. Your membership card will not be accepted at the pump. Instead, the gift cards would be used. Costco membership holders can still use the gas station, even though they do not have one.
