It doesn’t matter if you wake up, have oral sex, and then stroll casually to work. Your colleagues won’t know what your day was like by simply looking at you. Your dentist may be able tell if you are performing oral sex with a partner and then you walk into his office.
This possibly disturbing information is from TikTok. TikTok has recently published videos in which various oral experts confirm an unfounded rumor about the dentist’s ability to recognize if you’ve recently had a certain type of sex organ.
Huzefa Kaadia uploaded a video that shows how dentists are able to tell when a patient is having oral sex. The palatal petechiae refers to the soft-palate bruising, which can be caused by frequent, aggressive or intense oral sex. According to Kapadia, it’s unlikely that a single oral sex session would result in the tell-tale sign, but if, for example, “you like to suck on multiple, multiple, multiple, multiple lollipops all the time … you got a problem,” he explained in the video, swapping in candy as a PG euphemism.
“Sometimes we can tell,” orthodontist Brad Podray said in another viral TikTok video addressing the rumor. Petechiae refers to bruising that occurs on the soft palate. We don’t usually care unless the patient is very young or has signs of abuse. @MandiMaee, a TikTok user, also commented on the topic of oral sex dentistry. She explained that although a dentist can’t tell if you have ever performed the act by simply looking in your mouth, it might be possible to detect recent fellatio. That I would know if you’d done the deed three years earlier? In the video, she stated that “No”. If you had done it in the past and were very aggressive, it could have caused bruising. So yes, we can tell.” It’s important to note that none of this really matters. What kind of sex you’re having when and with whom is none of your dentist’s business, and they probably don’t care at all. But if you’d rather not head into an appointment with the tell-tale sign of any recent performances you may have given, maybe consider going easy on the oral for a few days in advance of your next cleaning.

The simple act of looking at your mouth can help your dentist discover much about your overall health. Although it may seem a bit creepy, your mouth can reveal a lot about your overall health. Your oral health can show signs of bad habits and illness. Your dentist may be the one to identify early signs and treatment for diseases such as cancer or anemia. These are seven things that your dentist will be able to tell you about your health during your next visit.
1. You are vitamin deficient
Your mouth can provide a lot of indicators alerting your dentist that you may be deficient in certain vitamins. Lack of vitamin D can cause bleeding gums and delayed healing.
2. Surprise, but you might be aware that your dentist can detect signs on your tongue that indicate your pregnancy. You may already know you’re pregnant. It won’t shock you if they ask. Gingivitis, which is caused by an increase in progesterone and bacteria buildup, can be a major indicator that a woman is pregnant. Some women might develop a temporary, benign pregnancy cancer. You can let your teeth speak for yourself. This can cause your front teeth to become uneven, chip or crack the enamel. It will be good for your teeth and nails to stop biting on your nails cold turkey.
4. It’s possible to have oral cancer. Although it is not something that you would like to hear, the sooner treatment can be done. If you notice signs such as bleeding gums and discoloration or pain in your jaws, you need treatment.
5. Someone has an eating disorder. A person who is bulimic may experience unique wear in their teeth which could indicate to a dentist that there is an eating disorder. Acid erosion usually occurs on the tongue side and can result in more cavities. Acid erosion is not always a sign of an eating disorder, but if it is in fact true, your dentist can help you seek additional medical care and support.
6. What frequency you actually floss. We all lie to our dentists, but this is not a good way to fool them. The task of flossing can be daunting, even though everyone knows how important it is. Don’t think you can floss just before your appointment. You will notice a difference in your red gums as soon as it is open.
7. You love sugary drinks If sports drinks and soda are part of your daily diet, your dentist will know. Sugary drinks over time can make your teeth soften, decrease enamel and lead to chipped teeth. Your oral health will be improved if you cut down on sugary drinks.
Be prepared to learn more about your health and not just what you need to know. Your dentist may be able tell you much more about your health than you realize, as well as inform you of important information.

The jaw-dropping TikTok shows that dentists can tell when you have just had oral sex.
Huzefa Kasadia, dentist from India, says “I get these questions a lot,” as he said in the now-viral video.
Kapadia, a Michigan dentistry practitioner, said, “Yeah, we know.” After fellow TikToker @CianMcBrien shared the fellatio amusement fact, Kapadia offered professional lip service regarding dentists and oral sex.
McBrien uploaded a video captioned “Just found out that the dentist can tell [whether] somebody has given [oral sex],” in an early February caption. In shock over the brain-busting claims, McBrien is seen covering his lips.
Kapadia created a second video explaining further how dentists can quickly determine a patient’s oral health.

Kapadia overlays a picture of a soft palate in TikTok. It is found in the lower portion of the mouth that has been infected by palatalpetechiae.

TikTok video uploaded by user “thyrants.” The video opens with the statement that “the dental can determine whether someone has [head] given.” It ends with what looks like a person in a dentist chair talking about the truth of “fellatio–associated erythema soft palate.” A seated man replies, “Sometimes I can tell.” It’s typically bruising of the soft palate, called petechiae. However, unless the patient is very young or signs of abuse are present, we won’t really care.

The French Journal of Venereal Diseases published the first ever report of fellatioinduced mouth lesion. In 2017, a paper reexamining the work said that it was noteworthy not only because of its original publication but also for how enthusiastically the corresponding doctor presented the case. It involved a sex worker, who he considered to have a very strong work ethic. As described in that 2017 paper and translated from French, the doctor described this patient as a “conscientious partner” who “had attached herself to work like an octopus to its prey.” The TikTok video highlights a case report from 2018 that describes a 47-year-old-man with a lesion discovered during a dental exam:
Examining the mouth, we discovered an oval-shaped erythematous lesions with clear centres on the patient’s soft tongue. The lesion was not noticed by the patient. … The patient admitted that he had been sexually involved with men. The patient admitted that he was sexually active with men. This last incident occurred 3 days before this visit. This information led us to conclude that the erythema of the soft palate is related to the practice or oral sex.
Many case reports similar to these are available in the scientific records. The 2013 summary of the literature about fellatio associated oral lesions indicated that there are likely to be more than one injury mechanism from the sex act. The authors wrote that direct and violent contact between the distal penis and the palate could cause mucosal injury, rupture of submucosal vessel and hemorhage. A second possible cause of mucosal injury, according to 2018 paper is “the adverse pressure that’s created by sucking,” which also could lead to damage to the tissue.
While there has been very limited research on this topic, it seems unlikely that fellatio causes lesions in all cases. TikTok featured the 2018 TikTok study. This study referred to a thesis on Peruvian sexual workers. The study found that only 17 of the 132 had fellatio related lesions. While the rest of the workers did not suffer any injuries, most fellatio-related lesion were asymptomatic. The lesions typically are resolved on their own. The point of highlighting these cases is not to suggest that your dentist can deduce deep secrets about your sex life, but instead to suggest the possibility that oral sex-related injury should be considered if someone with an unexplained mouth lesion comes into the office of a medical practitioner. An 2013 case report found that “fellatio” should also be included in the differential aetiology for intraoral petechiae. This is another reason why it is largely inaccurate to suggest dentists can tell if you have recently performed oral sex. If the dentist has access to both medical records and patient sexual histories, it is possible for fellatio-related injury diagnoses to be made. According to the 2013 case report, “the fellatrix or fallator may not be aware of the cause of the lesions, or might be reluctant to disclose these details,” “The clinician must have a high suspicion based on the patient’s clinical presentation and collaborative history of previous fellatio.” Some fellatio can be detected when a combination of patient’s medical and sexual histories is made.

I have been going to Angel Care Dental since I was a young child… so quite a while 😉 and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
