Target accepts returns of unused and unworn clothes up to 90 days after purchase as of 2022 if customers have the original receipt (or any valid proof of purchase as an alternative). Good condition clothes can be returned to Target without the tags.

How long can I keep my clothing from Target?

When the 90-day returns window expires, it is only possible to exchange your clothing items. You must retain the original receipt.

You will not be given a refund for clothes returned outside of the 90-day return window.

Instead, you will receive a merchandise credit with the current value of the product’s lowest priced item within the last 90-days. It can only be used at a Target store, and not online.

Target allows clothing to be returned with tags intact, as its Returns Policy on clothes without tags is extremely lenient.

Return clothes if they are unworn or unused.

The Target manager may refuse to exchange or refund clothes that show obvious signs of wear or stains.

What if I don’t have a receipt?

Target will accept returns without receipts if the buyer can show proof of purchase.

Target can locate your order online if it was purchased via Target RedCard (Visa, Mastercard or AmEx), Discover, Personal Check, Target Gift Card, AmEx and Discover. Cash purchases are not tracked.

You can also view the receipt and digital barcode from Target.com to confirm your purchase.

You will receive a merchandise return card if you cannot provide proof of purchase. Target.com cannot redeem this card online. This coupon is only available in Target’s stores.

How can I return worn garments to Target

If the item is faulty or damaged, you can return worn clothing items to Target for a full refund or exchange.

You may be eligible for a return or exchange if the clothing has been worn.
